BJ's Moonshine- For Lease

Molly”-BJ’s Moonshine. Molly is a standardbred. She race for a couple of years but just is not fast enough. She is all girl-a beautiful bay mare, very delicate in her features with a beautiful “Who Me” look.  She is built more like a quarter horse than a typical standardbred. She is 14.3 hands but I am 5’4´and I am not too big for her at all. She is well broke and has been shown extensively walk trot and walk jog classes. She has been shown mostly western but has done some English.
She is a free-legged pacer and has the smoothest of smooth paces. She has a descent headset and we worked long and hard on slowing down her pace to be very close to a western job. She is beginning to learn to trot and if you are posting and pushing her forward and collected she will trot. She is a beginner to cantering but will do it. She will need ground pole work to develop her canter but is very capable of cantering.
Molly has also been jumping with an 11 year old riding her, she is a dream in hand, she has been to the beach a loves to go trail riding.
Some of her accomplishments in the show ring include being both the National and State Rookie of the Year in the year 2010. She also was reserve champion in the overall in-hand and in the overall points standing in the National points standing. She was the Champion for two gait-green horses in both the state of Maine and in the National points standing. She traveled to the National Championship Standardbred Show at the Horse Park of New Jersey where she won the Mares in Hand division out of more than 15 of the top mares in the country. She also took home the winning sash in Showmanship. She then took a blue in the Western 2 Gait class. For fun she also went in the barrels class and held her own placing 5th.
Molly has been ridden by an 11 year old and a retiree and everything in between. She will do best with someone with some experience as she is still young at the age of 8 but is an honest steady ride. She is a dream to work with around the barn and is very easy for the vet and farrier. Her only downfalls are the need for front shoes in the summer months. She get be a little “girly” and sensitive about her feet. She has had a problem in the past with a “sticky” left hind stifle but backs right out of it and I have not had to do any treatment for it. It has been month since she had any problems.
If you have a real interests in this beautiful girl please contact me at 207-671-0690, text or talk. You can also contact me by email JillRN71aol.com. Vet, farrier, and personal references will be needed and checked. It is very hard for me to give this girl up so I will be picky. I want someone to love and care for her as I have whether it is a show home or a backyard, trail riding home.
